What's next, Dr. Minde?
Dr. Julie Minde was commanding a military intelligence task force in Afghanistan when she came across the announcement of a joint postdoctoral position between the UArizona Udall Center and the National Center for Environmental Conflict Resolution that “sounded like an absolutely perfect fit.” In April 2021, two months after returning to the US, Dr. Minde began her new postdoc position.
While at UArizona, Dr. Minde studied how “the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) employed an online geospatial application for the purpose of gathering public input” under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Gerlak and Mr. Brian Manwaring. During this time, she helped plan and conduct a Research, Innovation and Impact Office Workshop Grant – making connections that led to her current position as a social science analyst in Research and Development for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service. She is also excited to begin working as an adjunct assistant professor at George Mason University this fall.
As if she is not busy enough, Dr. Minde participates in NGO-sponsored Arctic environmental risk assessment research as well as article- and grant-writing with her former Udall Center colleagues.
Dr. Minde would like to extend her gratitude to Dr. Andrea Gerlak and Mr. Brian Manwaring “for their support and guidance and for the support and community of the Udall Foundation. A huge thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
