Intersections Science Fellows Symposium (applications due Aug 31)
The Intersections Science Fellows Symposium (ISFS) is a postdoc-led, faculty-advised initiative that advances diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic science by showcasing the work of mid- to late-stage postdocs from diverse backgrounds in the life sciences and providing opportunities for them to network with >20 hiring institutions and receive 1:1 mentoring and professional development.
The next ISFS will take place virtually on November 1-3, 2021. Postdocs from any U.S.-based lab, who are ready or almost ready for the academic job market, are eligible to apply (no nationality requirements). Applicants from historically under-represented and/or disadvantaged backgrounds are particularly encouraged. Priority research areas include biochemistry, biophysics, cancer biology, cell/developmental biology, cognitive science or psychology, computational/quantitative biology or bioinformatics, genetics/genomics, immunobiology, microbiology, molecular biology, neuroscience, physiology, virology.
The call for applications is currently open.
Applications consist of a research statement (1 page), diversity statement (1 page), and a CV, submitted by August 31, 2021.
A total of 30 Fellows will be selected to participate based on their scientific contributions and vision and their potential to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in academia.
