Postdoc Brian Gill studies the diversity, distributions and interactions of different species. Gill has looked at large-scale trends in a variety of organisms from plants to insects to large mammals.

A lifelong lover of biology and the outdoors, Gill is working on StreamCLIMES, which looks at the effects of drying streams and overall biodiversity across the southern United States.

Gill’s favorite part of being a postdoc at the University of Arizona is seeing how much the university interacts with the community. In his lab, Gill has enjoyed hearing about the variety of applied research being done. As a postdoc, he has learned that there are many ways to achieve your goals, be independent and balance many projects simultaneously.
