Dr. Michel Keersmaecker is a postdoc in the field of electrochemistry and materials science. After receiving his PhD from Ghent University in Belgium, Keersmaecker came to the University of Arizona to further explore his interest in different types of renewable technology and try to find better ways to reduce carbon emissions.

Dr. Keersmaecker enjoys being a postdoc at UArizona because he has been able to develop his skills as not only a scientist, but also as an engineer. He is particularly pleased that he has had the opportunity to develop new research methods and take on a lead role in the research.

When he is not in the laboratory making discoveries, Keersmaecker enjoys traveling and even the time change from Europe to Arizona can’t stop him from watching European soccer games.
