Asya is a Ph.D. Student in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching at the University of Arizona. She holds an MA in Linguistics from Saint Petersburg University in Russia and an MA in Russian and Slavonic Studies from the University of Missouri. She has been working as a language instructor for the last ten years. Asya has taught English as a Second Language courses for children and adults, as well as Russian as a Foreign language courses at universities in the US. Her main research interests are adult and refugee language education, curriculum development, multiliteracies, and assessment.
