Postdoctoral Affairs is pleased to recognize the 2026 Postdoc-as-Mentor Award Honorable Mentions, Dr. Hang Zeng and Dr. Andrea D'Ambrosio!

Dr. Hang Zeng is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering & Mechanics at the University of Arizona. His research focuses on developing low-carbon, high-performance concrete through waste valorization and CO₂-capturing technologies, advancing both the fundamental science of cementitious systems and their practical, scalable applications. Beyond his research, Dr. Zeng has demonstrated a strong commitment to mentorship and outreach, teaching Sustainable Concrete Materials and mentoring high school and undergraduate students through programs including the Summer Engineering Academy, NSF QODED training, and the Vertically Integrated Projects program.

Dr. Andrea D'Ambrosio is a former Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Space Systems Engineering Laboratory at the University of Arizona, and is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of South Florida. He also held a postdoctoral position at MIT's Astrodynamics, Robotics, and Controls Laboratory. He earned his Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. His research spans astrodynamics, space situational awareness, optimal guidance and control, and machine learning applications for aerospace systems.
